Verlustangst 2

En.: The Fear of Loss 2

A topic I am currently working on, artistically.
Sequel to "Verlustangst"

In my eyes the triplet's most important part is the "distance". The subject/hand (pict. 1) drifts further and further away, and in the end not even the female hand is holding the memory. It is lost. Not more than a thought, not more than the past. Just a picture in a picture in a picture..a memory of a memory of a memory.

I lately use polaroids alot, because it is very intimate, personal, and seems more powerful and "real", as it really is an "instant picture", a snapped moment, unedited, raw, usually flawed and the little things the filmdevelopement does to it is a mystery and fascination. Colour, light and obviously the actual appearence of the subject are out of the photgraphers controll.

I hope you enjoy it.

The first Polaroid, the hands are especially exanimate as if belonging to a corpse, really contributes to the emotional atmosphere of all three. Stellar concept!

I love the concept of this. The lighting, colours and mood is spot on. Wonderfully done.
